Technically not a "turret", the D.R.A.F.T. is a deployable flying drone equipped with an automated turret.

As with the Seeker, when deployed, the D.R.A.F.T. will follow the player's position on the map, and will lock on and fire at any enemy within its radius at a solid rate of fire solid damage output; it is also capable of revealing the position of nearby enemies on the player's mini-map. Unlike the Seeker, however, only 1 D.R.A.F.T. can be deployed at a time. It should be noted that it will disappear from the map upon the player's death. The D.R.A.F.T. also makes a unique hovering sound when firing which can alert enemies of its position in advance.

D.R.A.F.T.'s performance is also better without the Combined Arms class upgrade as it will allow the player to engage other players while the drone protects from flanking attacks, and also cancels out its turning delay to your shooting target. This also gives the player an extra edge on very open spaces like the Rooftop's ceiling area as the drone will not be distracted when the player shoots a different target than the one the drone is shooting. Each shot also consumes 2 units, with 7 base damage per shot and high rate of fire even by itself, it has a seemingly low time-to-kill for a turret.

Overall, the D.R.A.F.T. is a "hit or miss" weapon which lends itself to a "camping" playstyle; in open sections of the map or when deployed on higher terrain, its high damage ouput and solid firing range can make it a lethal option. However unlike the Seeker, it does not follow enemies very far from its location, and may have difficulty locking onto enemies at close range, making it less effective to deploy near corners or tighter quarters.

+
  • Solid damage
  • Maximum armor penetration
  • Solid rate of fire
  • Can fire from higher terrain at enemies below
  • Follows the player around the map
  • Small size makes it difficult to shoot down
  • Player movement is not inhibited when deploying
  • Locks onto-nearby enemies and reveals their positions on the player's mini-map
  • Small size makes it difficult to detect and destroy
  • Can be used to engage enemies around corner
  • Low range
  • Difficulty engaging enemies around corners
  • Only one drone can be deployed at a time
  • Disappears when player is killed
  • Makes hovering noise which can give its presence away.
  • Takes time to catch up to player when player is moving

Trivia[]

  • As with the Shoulder Gun, the D.R.A.F.T. appears to fire energy projectiles rather than conventional bullets.
