Hey Mark, how are you doing? I know you kind of left this place, but you might be interested in this. We created a competition which ends at the end of this year. You, as a Modern Combat veteran, are very welcome to leave your vote! I hope you haven't forgot about the games you used to play yet ;)
Whoever created the Modern Combat 5 page did not base anything off rumors. In the last mission ofMC4 there are several things said about the next Modern Combat. Someone added a bunch of crap after that, but I reverted it. So I am not quite sure why you deleted the page?
I feel like I've made a lot of changes to the wiki without your approval. I just want to clear the air here, I think I've changed more than you might be comftorable with, so with that said, I will change/revert/undo anything I have changed that you feel is necessary.
I might have brought this up before, but in case I didn't, I'd like to know what you think about a newer layout. With the release of MC4: Zero Hour approaching, I personally don't think it would hurt if we changed a few colors and a new wallpaper. Also, I'll be rewriting a few articles so they all see more consistant.
I'll be tweaking the layout a little, though, just the text. The new layout IS easier on the eyes, but the links should remain blue. In addition, I'll be removing the Killed in Action category. It's unnecessary. If a character is killed, simply list it in the regular way.
MC4: Zero Hour has been announced! First off, What is the current wallpaper from? Doesn't look like MC. Second, I am currently working on System messages, for example, Chat now says "Join Phantom Unit. Lastly, I made a new Wordmark, though I won't replace the old one, I'll probably just upload it for you to see.
I'm sorry, Oscar, I know I haven't been around. I'm trying to pay off all my bills so I can have internet again. I miss editing. But you've got things well under control here, so I don't sweat being away or worry about vandals anymore. I do appreciate the assistance, and I haven't abandoned the wiki, just so you know.
The background is from a series of concept artwork released by Gameloft for MC3. I'll leave it for now, but it will be changed.
My internet is up again, for now. I work evenings, so I won't see you as much. I'm going to continue from where I left off, on MC3 characters. I'll keep working on the MC3 pages, then double back to pages I missed, or that I need to revise. I'm sure you can handle any MC4 content.
On a side note, I like those higher-quality images for each MC3 character. How are you getting those? I like the new infoboxes, too.
I play through the most recent campaign with the character, I take a screenshot (Hold Power and Home buttons), then I crop them, and upload them. I have an iPad 2, I will be getting and iPad 4th generation when I can, so the images will hopefully look sharper.
About the infoboxes, I will be working on ones covering MC4! I have a few in mind, for multiplayer and guns etc. But mostly I'll update the MC4 page itself so I know where to start.
P.S I usually am getting shot while I try to get a shot of their face lol
I had an idea. In MC3, all the NPC characters use a set of similar character models. What say we use the head shots of certain characters, like Wilson, for characters that use the same model? I'll be uploading all the shots of each character I snapped for the Gallery section of each character's article, but there's no need for every character to have a seperate image.
Hm, no, I like the theme as is. I REALLY like the way the wiki is looking now.
I must apologize- I have'nt been around, and that can be frusterating, I know. Allow me to be frank: I don't have regular Internet access right now. I fell into minor debt, and am trying to catch up. In the next month, I think I'll have it sorted out.
I really appreciate the help, Oscar. I've been quite impressed by the way it's turning out. In addition, I'd like to give you a link: http://igamepros.com . I can be found there as well in Modern Combat discussions. They are aware of the wiki, and in fact, created the MC2 wiki that inspired me to make this one.
I'm sorry, Turreteer, but I fail to see the use of a "partnership". There exists a Wiki for Modern Combat 2 already, run by the iGamePros crew, I believe. But this wiki encompasses the entire series, not just one game. There just isn't enough content in one game to warrant an entire dedicated wiki, I find. I have no issue if you wish to link to us or borrow some images or whatever, though. Good luck.
As for you, Oscar, I thought I had responded. My bad. I'm always around, though I usually forget to log in. I'm very busy, and with my Internets down, I can only watch as trolls and scum shit all over my creation. A clean-up is in order, methinks.
