Hi Thesmoovelife! My name is Shrev, and I’m the Fandom Wiki Manager for Modern Combat Wiki. I am here to help the community and be a liaison to full-time Fandom staff. If you ever have a question or issue relating to the wiki, editing, styling, infoboxes, templates, etc., please feel free to contact me on my wall, or on Discord at Shrev64#0089.
Technically, it might, but I could not give a definite answer. There would be an issue if you dumped the full audio content on here, but personally I would think that little snippets, such as gun sounds, are fine.
Yes, it would. However, using it here will fall under "educational purposes", so it won't be a big problem as long as Gameloft doesn't come and remove them. Be sure to select the "Gameloft" license when uploading them.
If we would take this professionally, we should email Gameloft about it. (They won't ever reply, so maybe you could just upload them.)
No. Gameloft would file a takedown request, and the content in question would get removed. Depending on a couple of things, your account might get terminated; and a large enough violation could, in theory, get the wiki shut down.
However, as I said earlier, I think there would only be an issue if you dumped the full content of the game on here. I do not believe that small snippets like gun sounds would cause an issue even if Gameloft knew about it.
A while ago I uploaded a ton of MC2/3 weapon sounds by recording the internal audio. So I think you are fine. In this case I think there is nothing to worry about.
And yes, if you still have time to play BP, we can try getting in a match together :P. Name's EndZone49. Game crashes every time I try to log into level 75 existing account, so I'm using my level 48 EndZone49 account.
I'd love to play with you sometime on Black Pegasus.
Thanks! Yeah, that triple feed was interesting, it's pretty uncommon to find 3 opponents lined up like that. I'm just glad I was screen recording. I have a bunch more videos I haven't gotten around to uploading yet, such as a gun game match while using the virtual stick control layout.
I do have an old iPod Touch I can use for MC2 (or Sandstorm, if you want to play some of that). (I'm no longer used to playing well on such a small display, so don't expect great things lol)
hello guys..i paly this game in my laptop....but at first change i have some confusion.....see this symbol(^^^^^ 5 times) this is appear on my desktop .....i click all key of my keyboard but player doesnt move....so plz..give me advice ..what i do....
Determining the real life counterpart can be very opinionated. Someone thinks it's this, someone else thinks it's that, a third says something else entirely. Sometimes there are multiple real-life weapons, each of which could easily serve as the base for the in-game one. I know a lot of in-game weapons are obvious, but some are not, resulting in a guessing game- especially weapons that seem to be a hybrid of multiple real-life weapons. Then there is the question of whether to relate in-game weapons to real life ones based on appearance or functionality- sometimes there is no clear real-world weapon that fits both categories. And to top it all off, who knows what Gameloft actually used as inspiration. Perhaps they used other video games. Maybe it was some combination of other video games, real world weapons, and their own imagination. Who knows. Do you see where I am going with this?
In short, I think it is better to simply leave it out, not worry about it, and focus on other things.
The MoS says no guesses on real life counterparts to weapons. Apparently I misunderstood that. If so, I apologize.
If both of you really feel strongly about keeping it, that's completely fine- it's really not that big of a deal. :)
Funny thing is that my very first edits here - before I even created an account - were adding real-life counterparts to infoboxes. I like to show them because I think I'm not the only one who's interested in it. However, since I may be conservative in this, I won't do anything about it.
This wiki is a collaborative effort- so if you feel it really is a worthy addition, and that others may be interested, that is completely fine with me. I do not intend to make a big issue out of this. Maybe I will modify the template to read "Likely based on" or "Possibly based on". That would indicate that we do not know for certain what Gameloft's inspiration was.
