The Recon is an agile class which features SMGs as a primary weapon and pistols as a secondary weapon. Like the Heavy, it is optimized for closer-range engagements, but with a focus on finesse as opposed to brute force. With required Skills purchased, the Recon can also see enemies on the radar even while they're not shooting, and is able shoot accurately even while sprinting. Disadvantages of the Recon include the high recoil, low damage, and high damage drop-off of its sub-machine guns at longer ranges.
When playing as the Recon, the player should attempt to stick to tighter quarters and avoid being caught out in the open where they can be outranged. It is also advantageous to attack targets from the back or the sides whenever possible while making use of one's radar, as opposed to making frontal assaults against foes with higher stopping power.
