The Recon Aircraft (also known as the Recon Helicopter) is a Military Support featured in Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour and Modern Combat 5: Blackout.

The Recon Aircraft is the successor of the Satellite Scan from Fallen Nation. It locates enemies without Active Camouflage for 20 seconds. It can be destroyed with a CTK-88 Crumplor. Other types of weapons do damage, however often proves ineffective. Unlike the Satellite Scan, a helicopter can be detected.

Modern Combat 5: Blackout Edit

Recon Aircraft
EffectReveals all enemies on the map.
Duration30 seconds
Kills required3
Countered byEMP Strike, Air Strike practically any weapon with armor penetration and the range to hit it only verr power tier 8 bounty hunter cannot hit it

The Recon Helicopter is available as a support in multiplayer, requiring 3 kills in a row (or two if using the berserker rage core or wearing the Panda Slammer helm).

The Recon Helicopter flies across the map, and marks enemies on the player's mini-map, lasting for 30 seconds

These helicopters are relatively easy to shoot down compared to in MC4, and this can be achieved with a few shots of almost any weapon with armor penetration, including pistols and shotguns. An an EMP strike will also instantly destroy it, it is even possible to take the recon aircraft down with a rocket launcher just like the Com-4. as will an Air Strike (the fighter jet will shoot it down).

Trivia Edit

  • Originally the aircraft in Blackout differed in apperance per faction. The "Spec Ops" (Blue) team would receive a GSC attack helicopter while the "Raiders" (Red) team will get a WLA utility helicopter. However this was changed in a later update, with both teams now receiving the GSC attack helicopter.
