The Sabre-S2 is the Tier 1 submachine gun of the Recon class. Compared to other SMGs, it has favourable handling and mobility, solid damage, and a very high rate of fire. It also very low recoil, which makes it easy to stay on target both while aiming or hip-firing.
The weapon, however, does feature some downsides that hamper its otherwise solid performance stats. The Sabre's accuracy is among the lowest in its class; it should be noted that Sabre-S2 is able to unfold its foregrip for a slight increase in accuracy, but is otherwise unable to attach any other grips.
Likewise, the weapon suffers from a noticeable-damage drop off at ranges above 10m, making the weapon very ineffective at longer ranges; The clip size of the Sabre is also smaller than average, at 25 rounds. However, with an extended, it can be increased to 30 rounds.
Like all Tier 1 weapons, the Sabre also lacks armor penetration, reducing its effectiveness against armored opponents. As such, the weapon is popular primarily in lower-leagues, as SMGs with higher armor penetration and accuracy tend to provide a bigger tactical advantage in higher-league gameplay.
Equipping an Armor Piercer core gives this weapon additional armor penetration that greatly increases dealt damage to highly armored opponents, giving it a time to kill comparable to higher tier SMGs and Assault rifles, albeit not on par to the Prestige weapons. Accuracy is also greatly enhanced by crouching.

Trivia[]
- The Sabre-S2 features a folding foregrip similar to that of the MC81 from Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. (However the ability to unfold its foregrip first be unlocked as an attachment).
- The Sabre is picked up by Phoenix in the opening cutscene of the mission "Awakening" (however in-game the player will start with whatever primary weapon they have equipped).
