Campaign[edit | edit source]

The Thermal LCD only appears on the X6 .338 in Aftermath and on the UFIA PSD-2 in Cold Vengeance.

Multiplayer[edit | edit source]

The Thermal LCD is the only sight in the game that increases damage at the sake of contrast and recoil control. The sight is best used by more experienced players in all ranges, as it can be equiped to the both assualt rifles and sniper rifles. However, there is less optical zoom compared to other sniper sights.

The sight can be paired with the Charbtek-28 Heavy Assault Rifle for close to mid range combat, as it provides an even faster kill. In addition, it can be paired with snipers for additional damage on the non-bolt-action weapons, increasing the chance of a 1-hit kill.

When paired with the X6 .338, the Thermal LCD suffers from a misalignment problem that intensifies as the range increases. At extreme long ranges, the issue is severe enough to cause shots to miss completely. It requires the player to compensate by aiming slightly to the right of the intended target.

}} The Thermal LCD reappears in Modern Combat 5: Blackout. Unlike in previous titles, the sight highlights combatants on the battlefield (both friendly and hostile), allowing for the player to spot targets more quickly. This is particularly useful in maps such as Rooftops where targets are obscured by fog. (It can also distinguish between real targets and the replicas created by Sniper class's Decoy ability). The Thermal LCD comes with 6X optical zoom.
